Current Information:

It was not often that a submarine sank another submarine, but that’s what happened to HM Submarine D6 which was sunk by the German submarine UB-73, 70 miles north of Inishtrahull Island off the west coast of Ireland. The official date of her sinking is 24th June, 1918 but other sources claim it to be on 26th June. Twenty four members of her crew of twenty six lost their lives, one of them being Frederick Woolford.
